Your Easton, PA Moving Team

Easton sits where the Lehigh River meets the Delaware, and its moves climb and drop with the hills around Centre Square. Downtown and the South Side have brick rowhomes with steep front steps. College Hill, around Lafayette College, has big Victorian and early twentieth-century homes on sloped streets, full of heavy furniture and the kind of china, glass, and art that needs careful packing. Out in Palmer, Forks, and Bethlehem Township, newer single-family homes have driveways and bigger loads.

Simple Moving Solutions serves Easton from our Chadds Ford office, about an hour and a half south, and we move people across the Lehigh Valley, including Bethlehem and Allentown. Every move comes with an itemized quote, trained and insured crews, and Pennsylvania PUC licensing, plus packing services for fragile and valuable items.

Why Easton Chooses Simple Moving

Steep streets, older homes, and fragile heirlooms make Easton its own kind of move. Here is what you get with our crews.

Careful Packing for Fragile Items

China, glassware, mirrors, and art from College Hill homes are packed with the right materials. See how in our packing guide below.

How to Pack Fragile Items for Your Easton Move

Most moving breakage happens in the box, not on the truck. Pick an item to see what to use and how to pack it, or let our crew do it for you.

What you need

      Plates and bowls

You need: Medium dish-pack box with cell dividers or a double-walled box; Packing paper (not newspaper, which smudges); Foam plate sleeves for good china.

      1. Line the box bottom with crumpled paper.
      2. Wrap each plate and stand it on its edge, like records, never flat.
      3. Fill gaps with crumpled paper so nothing shifts.
      4. Mark the box FRAGILE and THIS SIDE UP.

      Glasses and stemware

You need: Small or medium box with cell dividers; Packing paper; Bubble wrap for stems.

      1. Stuff each glass with paper, then wrap it.
      2. Wrap stems in bubble wrap first.
      3. Pack glasses rim-down in the cells, heaviest at the bottom.
      4. Fill the top with paper before sealing.

      Framed art and mirrors

You need: Mirror or picture box sized to the frame; Cardboard corner protectors; Painter's tape and bubble wrap.

      1. Tape an X across the glass to hold it together if it cracks.
      2. Add corner protectors, then wrap in bubble wrap.
      3. Slide into a snug mirror box and fill gaps.
      4. Load standing on edge, never flat.

      Lamps and shades

You need: Medium box for the base, a separate box for the shade; Packing paper; Bubble wrap.

      1. Remove the bulb and harp and pack them separately.
      2. Wrap the base in bubble wrap and pack it upright.
      3. Pack shades on their own, nested by size, with only paper inside.
      4. Never put anything heavy on a shade box.

      TVs and monitors

You need: Original box if you have it, or a TV box; Moving blanket or foam; Bag for screws and cords.

      1. Photograph the cable setup before you unplug.
      2. Bag and tape the screws to the back.
      3. Box the TV upright, padded on both faces.
      4. Transport it standing, never lying on the screen.

      Small electronics and kitchen appliances

You need: Original boxes or medium boxes; Packing paper and bubble wrap; Zip bags for cords.

      1. Empty and dry appliances like coffee makers.
      2. Coil and bag cords, labeled by device.
      3. Wrap each item and pack the heaviest at the bottom.
      4. Keep laptops and drives with you, not on the truck.

Rather not pack the kitchen yourself? Our crews can pack just the fragile rooms or the whole home. See our packing and residential moving service.
