A Delaware Moving Company
Simple Moving Solutions is a Delaware company. Our headquarters is at 1600 E Newport Pike in Wilmington, and most of our Delaware moves start within half an hour of it, from Wilmington and Newark down Route 1 to Middletown and Dover. Every few weeks a move heads all the way down to Lewes and the beaches.
Delaware is small, but its moves are not all alike. Northern New Castle County has Wilmington rowhomes, Hockessin estates, and University of Delaware rentals. South of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal are the fast-growing developments of Middletown and Odessa. Kent County has Dover's state offices and the Air Force base, and Sussex County has beach homes and condos that run on summer schedules. Every move comes with an itemized quote and trained, insured crews.

Why Delaware Chooses Simple Moving
From Wilmington to the beaches, here is what you get with a moving company headquartered in Delaware.
Headquartered in Delaware
Our main office is on Newport Pike in Wilmington, so northern Delaware moves start close to home with short arrival windows.
North and South of the Canal
We plan the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal crossing and the Route 1 tolls for moves between New Castle County and lower Delaware.
Beach Moves Planned Around Summer
Moves to Lewes and the beaches are scheduled around summer weekend traffic on Route 1 and condo association move rules.
Moves Into Pennsylvania and Maryland
We are licensed in Delaware's neighbors too, so moves to Chester County, Delaware County, or Maryland are covered.
Itemized Quotes
Every Delaware quote lists the crew, truck, and services before move day, so there are no surprises when the job is done.

Learn morePlan a Move Anywhere in Delaware
From Wilmington to the beaches is less than two hours, but the canal, the tolls, and summer traffic all change the plan. Pick both ends of your move.
Moves within northern New Castle County usually take half an hour or less of driving. Moves south of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal add a bridge crossing and often the Route 1 toll road, and beach moves in summer go best on weekdays with an early start.
Approximate drive times without traffic, for planning only. Nothing you enter here is sent or saved.
Moving Across Delaware, Region by Region
Northern New Castle County, the canal towns, Kent County, and the beaches each move a little differently. Pick yours.
Northern New Castle County
Wilmington rowhomes and high-rises, Trolley Square and Little Italy twins, suburban homes in Newport and Stanton, and estates in Hockessin and Greenville.
Our headquarters is here, so arrival windows are short. City blocks need a parking plan; estates often have long driveways and heavy furniture.
Newark, Bear, and Glasgow
University of Delaware rentals, townhomes, and family neighborhoods along Route 40 and Route 896.
College move weeks in late August and May, and apartment complexes with move-in time slots.
Middletown, Odessa, and Townsend
Some of the fastest-growing developments in the state, mostly newer single-family homes and townhomes south of the canal.
New construction and HOA rules are common. Canal bridge crossings are timed around rush hour.
Dover and Kent County
State government offices, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware State University, and neighborhoods in Camden, Smyrna, and Magnolia.
Military households often work to a report date; NASCAR race weekends at Dover Motor Speedway bring heavy traffic.
Lewes and the Sussex County beaches
Beach homes, condos, and year-round communities around Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, and Milton.
Summer weekend traffic on Route 1 and condo association move rules. Off-season moves are easier to schedule.
When to Move in Delaware
College calendars, beach season, race weekends, and I-95 traffic all shape a Delaware moving day. Here is what we plan around.
University of Delaware move weeks
Move-in in late August and move-out in May fill Newark streets and apartment buildings.
Beach summer weekends
Route 1 to the beaches backs up on summer weekends. Weekday moves with an early start are faster.
NASCAR weekends in Dover
Race weekends at Dover Motor Speedway bring heavy traffic on Route 1 and Route 13 around Dover.
I-95 and Route 1 rush hours
I-95 through Wilmington and Route 1 near the canal back up at rush hour. We plan around them.
Month-end turnover
Apartment leases turn over at month-end, when elevators and our calendar are busiest.
Winter moves
Winter dates are easier to book, and we bring floor protection for snow and slush.
