Your Trusted Main Line Movers
Moving on the Main Line
The Main Line runs along Lancaster Avenue and the old Paoli rail line, from Ardmore and Haverford through Bryn Mawr, Villanova, and Wayne, out to Berwyn, Paoli, and Malvern. The homes are as varied as the towns: stone colonials on wooded lots, Victorian twins near the train stations, long private driveways in Gladwyne and Villanova, and apartments and condos above the shops in Ardmore and Bryn Mawr. Many of the moves we handle here are families settling in, or longtime owners downsizing into a smaller home or a retirement community.
Simple Moving Solutions serves the whole Main Line from our Chadds Ford office, about 30 minutes away, and we are right next door in Newtown Square and Broomall. Every move comes with an itemized quote, trained and insured crews, and Pennsylvania PUC licensing. See our full list of moving services or every area we serve.

Why the Main Line Chooses Simple Moving
Main Line moves come with large older homes, valuable furniture, and building rules. Here is what you get with our crews.
Estate Homes, Handled With Care
Stone colonials and large older homes on the Main Line often hold antiques, art, and heirloom furniture. We pad-wrap every piece and plan the route through the house before anything moves.
Downsizing Without the Stress
Many Main Line moves are longtime owners moving to a condo or a retirement community. We help plan what fits, move only what is going, and set up the new place.
Condo and Building Rules Covered
Apartments and condos in Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, and Wayne often need elevator reservations and a certificate of insurance. We arrange both before move day.
Long Driveways and Tight Streets
Wooded lots with long or steep driveways, and narrow streets near the train stations, are planned for with the right truck size and crew.
Licensed for Pennsylvania Moves
Simple Relocations, LLC holds Pennsylvania PUC license A-8928842 and USDOT 4531853, covering moves within Pennsylvania and across state lines.
About 30 Minutes Away
Our crews leave from Chadds Ford, close to the Main Line, so arrival windows are tight and travel time stays short.

Moving from a large Main Line home into a condo, apartment, or retirement community starts with one question: how much will fit? Pick your homes and timeline to get a sorting plan.
As a rule of thumb, moving from a four-bedroom house into a two-bedroom condo means keeping a bit over half of your furniture. Start sorting eight weeks out, one or two rooms a week, beginning with the rooms you use least. Call us and we will help plan what goes.
Your week-by-week plan
Arrange before move day
Rule-of-thumb estimate based on room counts, not a measurement of your furniture. Nothing you enter here is sent or saved.
Moving Along the Main Line, Town by Town
From Ardmore to Malvern, each stretch of the Main Line moves a little differently. Pick yours to see what to expect.
Ardmore, Narberth, and Wynnewood
Victorian twins and stone singles on tree-lined blocks, plus apartments and condos near Suburban Square and the Ardmore and Narberth stations.
Street parking is tight near the stations and Suburban Square on weekends. Apartment moves usually need an elevator reservation and a certificate of insurance.
Haverford and Bryn Mawr
Large older homes near Haverford College and Bryn Mawr College, plus apartments and townhomes off Lancaster Avenue.
College move-in and move-out weeks in late August and May fill streets and calendars. Many older homes have narrow back stairs and heavy antique pieces.
Villanova, Rosemont, and Gladwyne
Estate homes on large wooded lots, long private driveways, and stone colonials near Villanova University.
Long or steep driveways can limit truck size; we confirm access in advance. Expect antiques, art, and pianos that need extra wrapping and crew.
Wayne, Radnor, and St. Davids
Classic Main Line homes near downtown Wayne, plus newer townhomes and offices in the Radnor business district.
Downtown Wayne has busy Lancaster Avenue traffic and limited parking. Office moves in Radnor are usually scheduled after hours or on weekends.
Strafford, Devon, Berwyn, and Paoli
Larger single-family homes and newer developments along the western Main Line, many on cul-de-sacs.
Driveways make loading easier here. The Devon Horse Show in late spring adds traffic around Route 30 in Devon for about a week.
Malvern
Historic homes in Malvern borough and newer neighborhoods and townhomes in the surrounding townships, close to Route 202.
Quick access to Route 202 and Route 29 for moves toward West Chester, King of Prussia, or our Chadds Ford office.
Moving Antiques, Art, and Heirlooms
Main Line homes often hold pieces that cannot be replaced. Tick off what you are moving so we can plan the right materials and crew.
Your valuables list
Tick the items you have.
Mention these when you request your quote and we will bring the cartons, padding, and crew size to match. For pianos, see our piano moving service.
When to Move on the Main Line
College calendars, building rules, and Route 30 traffic all shape a Main Line moving day. Here is what our crews plan around.
College move weeks
Villanova, Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Rosemont move-ins in late August and move-outs in May fill streets and apartment buildings. Book early if your date lands then.
Devon Horse Show
For about a week in late spring, show traffic slows Route 30 around Devon. We route around it or schedule earlier in the day.
Lancaster Avenue traffic
Weekday rush hours on Route 30 can add real time between towns. We schedule loading and drives to avoid the worst of it.
Building move hours
Many Main Line condo and apartment buildings only allow moves on weekdays during set hours. We book within them.
Weekend shopping
Suburban Square in Ardmore and downtown Wayne get busy on Saturdays, and street parking goes fast. Early starts help.
Winter moves
Steep driveways on wooded lots get icy. Winter dates are easier to book, and we bring floor protection for snow and slush.
